Dr. David Harwell is Assistant Director of Industry Member Programs at the American Chemical Society in Washington, D.C. He has been on staff at ACS for 13 years in various roles supporting ACS Careers, Local Sections, and Community Activities including National Chemistry Week. He earned both his B.S. and Ph.D. in Chemistry at Texas Tech University, and earned a mini-MBA at the University of Maryland - College Park. Dr. Harwell is an expert in economics and employment within the chemical industries.
Before joining the ACS staff, David was a professor at the University of Hawaii where he synthesized silicon nanoparticles. You may also have heard his voice as host of the ACS Webinars, or he may have facilitated an ACS Career Pathways workshop or Leadership Development course that you attended.
Kinnari Saraiya has over 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry from University of Illinois- Chicago and an MBA from San Jose State University. Kinnari has held a variety of positions including a Quality Control Chemist at CSL Behring and Abbott Laboratories where she conducted analytical chemical analysis on final release products. She worked at Guava Technologies as a Product Manager in which her job responsibilities included coordinating tradeshows, generating product sales and providing support and training for Salesforce.com. Kinnari has worked with Kelly Scientific Resources since 2005 and worked as a technical recruiter where she successfully placed candidates for a variety of scientific positions. Currently, Kinnari is the District Manager for Kelly Scientific Resources for Chicago/Detroit/Milwaukee.
