SUPPORTERS

    Employment

The Employment Committee helps chemists find the best job for them, providing resume review, career counseling, and connections to other resources provided by ACS. The chief activity of this committee is the Job Club, which is held during the social hour of several of the Chicago Section's monthly meetings.

    Job Club

Job ClubThe Job Club provides a continuing opportunity for members of the Section to meet with one another, share their experiences, and develop a network that helps identify employment opportunities.  It is free and open to the unemployed, students seeking their first professional job, and others who wish to advance their careers. To find out which meetings feature a Job Club, see the web entry for the meeting of interest.

    Tips

    • Discounted Meeting Registration: Chicago Section regular/monthly meetings are great places to network with area professionals and find job opportunities. To encourage attendance, students and the unemployed are charged approximately half the regular registration fee for most meetings. Also, attendees who wish to attend most meetings without having dinner may attend for free.

    • Maintain your ACS Membership! The ACS grants unemployed members dues waivers for up to three years, enabling you to use its resources during difficult times. See more about the ACS benefits for unemployed members here:
