Do you like to write? Have you ever made a zine? The Chicago ACS’ monthly newsletter, The Chemical Bulletin, needs an Editor to organize and produce our chief publication. Reaching over 4000 members across Chicagoland, this publication keeps the local chemistry community updated on chemistry-related events, professional development opportunities, and feature articles. If you like to write about chemistry, the Bulletin can provide you a vehicle for your work with a guaranteed audience. The Editor is strongly encouraged to recruit additional help writing content and recruiting contributors. Special preference will be given to those interested in exploiting our new emailable HTML newsletter format and including graphical content.
The Editor position carries one half vote on the Board of Directors, and appointment must be approved by the board. Please contact Policy Chair Ken Fivizzani to be nominated ([email protected], 630-904-9752), and alert the current and incoming chairs ([email protected] and [email protected])
For reference, here is the job description in the Chicago Section ACS Manual:

The Editor may appoint an Advisory Board to advise him/her in the issuance of Section publications. The Editor shall be independent of the Board of Directors with respect to editorial policy.
