FREE HANDS-ON SCIENCE COMMUNITY EVENT
Join the Chicago Local Section of the American Chemical Society for a free community event to celebrate National Chemistry Week. This event is for children of all ages. Learn about this year’s theme, Marvelous Metals and the Periodic Table, with numerous exciting hands-on activities and tours.

Location and How to Get There:
Public Transportation: The closest CTA station is the Illinois Medical Center, Blue line. The CTA 50 (Damen) and 126 (Jackson) buses stop there. Harrison 7 is an alternative bus to reach the college.
Driving: Damen Ave exit North from the Eisenhower (I-290) Expressway
Parking: Free Parking available in the main garage off Jackson (East of Damen).

Science Works! STEM Career Fair
Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago
From the MSI: Our annual Museum-wide career fair invites youth and families to learn about interesting jobs straight from the STEM professionals with an array of dynamic speakers, hands-on activities and one-on-one discussions. More than 100 professionals from over 40 companies and organizations are stationed throughout the Museum.
This event is free with Museum Entry. Science Works is presented in partnership with CBS 2.

Community Activities Subcommittee | |
The Community Activities Subcommittee organizes, arranges, and participates in Section outreach events in the greater Chicago area. Two of the feature events are Chemists Celebrate Earth Week (CCEW) and National Chemistry Week (NCW). To support these outreach events, the subcommittee also judges the poetry contests and other contests. Some of the other events that the subcommittee supports are: DuPage Expo, GEMS programming, Scouts programs, K – 12 school events, and many other contests and events. | |
