The Chicago Section of the American Chemical Society is sponsoring the 2014 Scholarship Examination. High school students in the Chicago area who are presently enrolled in the first year of high school level chemistry are eligible. A.P. Chemistry is not considered a first year high school chemistry course. The exam will be held at 31 N. Loomis St., Naperville, Illinois 60540 on Saturday May 31, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Metra train arrives 4 blocks from the college. The exam will be presented in two parts; each part will be seventy-five minutes in length. It will consist of questions and problems representative of a one-year high school chemistry course. There will be a break between exam periods. A calculator may be used during each part of the exam. A calculator and periodic table will be provided at the exam. All calculators must be returned at the end of the exam. Instances of dishonesty will warrant immediate disqualification from the exam competition plus referral to the appropriate high school principal. All tests and exam related material must be handed directly to the exam proctor upon completion. All exams will be graded as soon as possible.
