Chemistry programs at the Illinois Institute of Technology

The American Institute of Chemical Engineers parters with Chicago ACS on a regular basis. We have had joint meetings every January for many years, alternating responsibility for choosing a speaker.

The University of Chicago is a valued partner of the Chicago ACS. The Chemistry Department and the Chicago Section ACS jointly host the Julius Stieglitz Lecture, with the lecturer chosen in alternating years by committees from either institution. UofC professionals hold positions on the Chicago ACS Board of Directors and are often at our general meetings.

Northwestern University hosts the largest number of Chicago Section ACS members of any institution, and is a highly valued partner. NU and Chicago ACS hold a joint meeting every October to present the Basolo Award, acknowledging that the long-time Chemistry Department Chair had strong ties to the ACS, including serving as its President. Northwestern chemists from several departments hold positions on the Chicago Section Board of Directors, and regularly participate in our general meetings as speakers, poster presenters, and audience members.
